Book “The War of Return”
Dear Friends and Colleagues, The world has turned upside down and I hope that you are keeping safe and healthy. As we mark Israel’s 72 years of Independence, it is my honour to share with you that “The War of Return: How Western Indulgence of the Palestinian Dream has Obstructed the Path to Peace” (St. Martin’s Press) is now available for you to read. You can now purchase a digital copy and start reading immediately, or a physical copy to be delivered to your home. Click here to purchase the book. The book offers an opportunity to examine the history of the conflict from the unique perspective of the Palestinian refugee issue and to reflect on why a war that has ended more than seventy years ago is still not over for millions of Palestinians, who believe its consequences, in the form of an independent state for the Jewish people in the Land of Israel, could and should be reversed. With much of the world under lockdowns and various social distancing measures, the events for the book launch have gone digital. The upside is that they are available to you wherever you are. Follow me on Twitter @EinatWilf and Adi Schwartz on Facebook to learn of upcoming events. I was also honoured to be hosted digitally by Australia’s AIJAC for a Q&A discussion on the book. Today, you can catch me live on The Israel Innovation Fund’s Facebook page at 5pm Israel time discussing whether the War of Independence is really over. And tomorrow, April 29th at 6pm Israel time, Adi Schwartz and myself will be hosted by ISGAP – The Institute for the Study of Global Antisemitism and Policy – for a Q&A Zoom session on the book – click here to register and participate. For more discussion about the book, look out in the next few days for a Rosner’s Domain/JPPI/Jewish Journal podcast, and in three weeks for Tablet’s Unorthodox podcast. I will send update emails with more digital events as they become available. Also, if your organization is interested in hosting a digital event for the book, please write to me, and we’ll be happy to follow up. Sending you best wishes of health and wishing you all a happy Israel Independence Day! Yours, Einat. |
