Public Affairs Director Phil Rosenberg and Government Affairs Officer Daniel Elton met London Councils’ political advisers Jade Appleton, from the Conservative Party, and Mehboob Khan, from the Labour Party, to discuss Jewish communal engagement with local authorities. Subjects discussed included the adoption of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance definition of antisemitism and the Board of Deputies’ forthcoming Jewish Manifesto for Local Government. President Jonathan Arkush attended the launch of a major new series to be broadcast on Radio 4 entitled Living With The Gods. The programme will explore the role and expression of beliefs in communities through time and around the world.

INTERNATIONAL
International Relations Officer David Walsh and Anthony Silkoffmet a group of Australian young political leaders, as part of an International Political Seminars study tour of the UK. They discussed the Board of Deputies’ work in the areas of interfaith dialogue, social action and international relations.
Grassroots and Advocacy Consultant Steven Jaffeentertained nine Christian leaders with an interest in Israel at his family succah. Guests came from Kingdom Faith church in Horsham, Living Word church in Fareham, North Herts Friends of Israel, Christian Watchmen over Zion and Project Ebenezer which works with the Jewish Agency in assisting aliyah.
