Twitter users bashed out an estimated 4.2 million English-language antisemitic tweets over a one-year span, the Anti-Defamation League said on Monday, adding fresh concerns that digital platforms have become a breeding ground for expressions of Jew-hatred.

PARAGUAY BECOMES THIRD COUNTRY TO PLAN EMBASSY MOVE TO JERUSALEM
Paraguay is set to become the third country, after the US and Guatemala, to transfer its embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. Israeli Foreign Ministry spokesperson Emmanuel Nahshon said Paraguay President Horacio Cartes will travel to Israel later this month to open the country’s new embassy in the capital.

BORDEAUX MOSQUE HOSTS EXHIBITION ON THE SHOAH
An exhibition on the memory of the Shoah was launched on Sunday in the prayer hall of the mosque in the French south-western city of Bordeaux. The exhibition, entitled “Fragments”, displays sculptures and photographes in the prayer area.

TREE PLANTING EVENT – ISRAEL 70 CELEBRATION IN BUDAPEST
Hungarian Jewish people celebrated the 70th birthday of the State of Israel by an amazing tree planting event in Budapest. The event itself was initiated by the MAZSIHISZ – Federation of Jewish Communities in Hungary and was implemented by cross-borders cooperation, 35-35 trees (saplings) were planted in Israel then in Hungary.

2,000 TURKISH JEWS HAVE APPLIED FOR PORTUGUESE CITIZENSHIP
Some 2,000 Turkish Jews have applied for Portuguese citizenship after Portugal’s government decided to grant nationality through naturalisation to the descendants of Sephardic Jews who were expelled from Portugal and Spain in the 15th century, Portuguese Ambassador to Ankara Paula Leal da Silva has said.

Damage caused by UK Labour’s antisemitism scandal has been laid bare after the party lost seats to the Conservatives in areas with a strong Jewish community. Jeremy Corbyn’s party failed to take control of Barnet in London as expected and lost Kersal in Salford where almost half the population is Jewish.
