The Hebrew University of Jerusalem

My dear friends,
You all know how attached I am to Israel, and so proud to be governor of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, a place of knowledge, also a place of beauty.
Facing this sanitary crisis that affects us all, Israel has proven its competences: as of March 25, 2021, about 4.5 million Israelis have been completely vaccinated, which represents 75% of the vaccinable population, following a vaccination campaign considered to be one of the fastest in the world. The country is gradually coming out of its third confinement since February.
This remarkable performance does not stop the people of Israel from continuing combat. Even more so for the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, which undertakes the construction of a research laboratory available to all academic researchers and biotechnology companies in the country, in order to study mutations and variants. In Israel, it will be the only maximum civil safety laboratory (ABSL3) to do research on pathogenic viruses. It will move ahead in the fight against Coronavirus, curb the current pandemic, and prevent future pandemics that will not fail to occur in the future.
This laboratory attached to the University Faculty of Medicine which adjoins Hadassa Hospital on Campus Ein Kerem will allow to study in real time the appearance of potential new variants of the Coronavirus in a population having reached collective immunity . It will be the only place in the world where these studies can be made as of May 2021, date of commissioning.

The disorder reigns in Europe, incoherent speeches, contradictory orders, no positive perspective, we’re heading nowhere. The renunciation is a runaway. Yes, I admire the Israelis for their tenacity and courage, people who never give up.
Watch the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uz8drfzk9xy. In Tel Aviv the streets are lively, shops, restaurants, open …
If we can not take advantage of this show to boost our morale, the laboratory that the University of Jerusalem is building is a project that concerns us all because we will share the results. Finally a source of hope that will make us smile again.
Regardless of our religious confession, we must all contribute to the effort that will take us out of the terrible marasmus in which we have been confined for over a year. Each of us, within his financial means, must participate in the fulfillment of the project designed by the University of Jerusalem which can move us away from the curse that fell upon us all. Coronavirus is a real catastrophe.
I thank you in advance for your generosity and tell you all my gratitude and friendship. It’s important for all of us that you follow me in my engagement. I’m counting on you, thank you, thank you. Anne-Marie, Annamaria for the intimate. Kind regards.
