RECALL OF RECOMMENDATIONS AND OBLIGATIONS FOR THE PRAYERS IN THE SYNAGOGUES
RECOMMENDATIONS FOR THE CELEBRATION OF PRAYERS IN THE SYNAGOGUES FOLLOWING THE INSTRUCTIONS GIVEN BY THE FCJE.
In the Synagogue
Cities with Eruv:
➢ In cities with Eruv the Kahal will be asked to bring book, tallit and kipa In cities without Eruv:
1- Tefila books: Establish two tables, one for clean books and the other for “used” books, that is, they will be arranged there after being used in prayer. There should be an informational sign on each table. Book cabinets must be locked or sealed
2- Taletot: It is recommended that the Kahal bring his talet in advance and deposit it in the seat box if available. Otherwise, the community must provide taletot to the Kahal but it must be washed at 60ºC after use. Another possibility is that the Kahal is wearing the tallit and “camouflaged” due to security problems under the suit.
3- Kipot: You should not use Kipot of cloth owned by the synagogue. It is recommended to make cardboard kipot that the assistant will discard in a pedal bin that will be arranged near the table of used books. The use of own Kipot is obviously allowed
4- Neither the mezuza at the entrance nor the sidur should be kissed
Kiddush on Friday night and Saturday: It is recommended NOT to say kiddush in the synagogue
Breakfasts: It is recommended to cancel them
Seudat shelishit: It is recommended that it is NOT done in the synagogue. Everyone will go home to do it.
In the synagogue: prayers with sefarim (during the week and on Shabbat and Shavuot)
1- The entire Kahal will be wearing a mask in the synagogue
2- There will be a box of gloves size L on a table near the Hejal
3- There can be three situations to respect the safety distance:
- a) Two sefarim are taken out: one that will be the one that reads the Shaliaj (Baal Koreh) and another located 2 meters away where the one who goes up to each aliyah will continue
- b) A single sefer is drawn and the Shaliaj (Baal Koreh) rises to all aliyot
- c) If someone knows how to read the Torah and it is his turn to go up in one of the aliyot, the shaliach of the Teva will go down when he goes up. But the Baal Koreh says so
EVERYONE who climbs the Teva will put on gloves (which will be removed and thrown into the trash can with a pedal) and will continue to wear a mask and optionally also a protective screen that can be removed after leaving the Teva
DO NOT WALK THE SEFER as it will not be possible to comply with the country’s law of maintaining more than 1 meter of interpersonal distance
In the synagogue: prayers with sefarim (during the week and on Shabbat and Shavuot) (2)
3 -The person who opens the Hejal will be the same person who takes the 1st Sefer to Teva and does Mareav Ketab (if the Shaliaj cannot do it). To do this you must: ➢ Put on gloves ➢ Open the Hejal and then close it ➢ Bring the Sefer to the Teva ➢ Bring the 2nd sefer Remember: the screens are reusable but must be washed after use with soap and water and then with disinfectant and left to dry after each use He who opens, closes the Hejal, carries the sefer to the Teva and makes Mareav Ketab: Gloves, mask The Baal Koreh: Gloves, mask and protective screen
