Big congratulations to the first Sephardi to obtain his Spanish citizenship documents without taking the exams
Earlier this year, the long-awaited amendment to the Spanish law allowing Sephardi applicants who are older than 70 years old to be exempt from taking both the Spanish language and cultural exams for their Spanish citizenship applications was approved .
This law amendment removes one of the biggest hurdles to the Spanish citizenship process and simplifies it substantially and as a result less than two months after the law’s amendment came through, the first Sephardi older than 70 obtained his citizenship documents (Acta de Nacionalidad) in an emotive ceremony in Spain.
Lisa Advisors would like to encourage our senior Sephardi community members to benefit from this law modification and claim their birth right by applying for the Spanish citizenship.
