The HSBC Jewish Network and the Board of Deputies of British Jews are delighted to invite you to hear Chief Secretary to the Treasury, Stephen Barclay, speak on Wednesday 7th July at 12.30pm. Mr Barclay, who has been MP for North East Cambridgeshire since 2010, has held various senior governmental positions including Minister of State at the Department of Health and Social Care, and Secretary of State for Exiting the European Union from November 2018 until January 2020. He has been Chief Secretary to the Treasury since February 2020 and prior to his career in politics worked in the financial services and legal sectors as well as serving in the armed forces. This event, hosted by Colin Bell, Chief Executive Officer HSBC Bank plc and HSBC Europe, is a great opportunity to hear from a prominent politician, and to ask him any questions you may have. Public Affairs Director Phil Rosenberg, Public Affairs Officer Daniel Sugarman and Regional Manager Sara Radivan, along with Susie Gordon (Chief Operations Officer, Leeds Jewish Representative Council) and Colin Grazin (Deputy, Leeds Jewish Representative Council) met Fabian Hamilton, MP for Leeds North West, to discuss Labour antisemitism, the upcoming Online Safety Bill and opposition to BDS.

President Marie van der Zyl and International Relations Officer Talia Ingleby attended the Commonwealth Jewish Council’s President’s Forum with President of the Commonwealth Jewish Council, Lord Mendlesohn. Topics discussed included the rise in antisemitism experienced by diaspora communities as a result of the latest conflict in the Middle East.
Public Affairs Director Phil Rosenberg and International Relations Officer Talia Ingleby spoke with Vivian Aisen, Director of Public Diplomacy and Georgia Boroda, Community Engagement Officer, at the Israeli Embassy in London about Operation Guardian of the Walls and Israel advocacy.
